COVID-19 Update (updated May 15, 2020)
Before the COVID-19 crisis, we were excited about the expansion of our summer camp program to five weeks. As of today—with sadness and after much consideration—we are officially canceling SCCS Summer Camp for the month of June. Our leadership team will be using the month of June to do the work of intensive planning and preparation for fall.
While our first priority is a safe return to school in August, it is possible that we may offer some form of childcare in July and/or early August, depending on the guidelines of public health officials and our resources. This would be an opportunity to serve our families and begin the important work of instituting best practices for safely welcoming staff and children back into the building.
We will make an announcement about possible July-August childcare offerings by June 15. If you are interested in being the first to know about any summer program offerings, please email Laura Lee Bausell.
Regarding SCCS week at Ridge Haven Cono, since this is scheduled for late July, this camp is still set to happen. We are working with our partner Ridge Haven to see what decisions they make in the month ahead. You can read Ridge Haven’s latest information about their response to COVID-19 here, and you can still register here should this proceed as planned.
